VINTAGE..What’s old is new again- The Retro look is seen everywhere in this year’s swimwear collections. Halter tops, Sweetheart necklines, bandeau tops, prints and vivid colors mixed together. Geometric prints, Polka dots and vintage florals abound.
EUROPEAN influences are important for 2008. American women want newness and it’s coming from overseas. Eres and Manuel Canovas are still setting the trends from France. Lenny, the Brazilian celebrity designer, has a very unique and creative collection. Jets is an elegant line, with a perfect fit, from Australia. The use of interesting fabrications from Italy and France add richness to the suit. The exclusive fabrics feel like butter, but with more lycra to shape and contour. Details such as draping, braiding, twisting and pin tucking give this year’s suits a very sophisticated look. It is difficult to re-invent swimwear every year but they have done it again.
JEWELRY! another trend.....crystals and semi-precious stones. Shiny gold, silver, enamel rings and beads are seen everywhere! Chains, belts and embellishments adorn tunics, covers and swimwear. Long necklaces, layered bracelets and rings add personal style to any outfit, anytime of the day.
ANIMAL prints are back again in sportswear, accessories and... swimwear. Understated, graphic Giraffe, tiger, and leopard designs spice up our wardrobe
DRESSES- A must have item for Resort 2008 is the travel dress. Versatile,knit dresses that go from pool, to lunch to evening are a necessity. Mod style sundresses and short tunics with babydoll shapes work for “beach and beyond”.
